Europe's highest resort at 2,300 m, Val Thorens has the longest season in the 3 Vallées, from late November to early May. Its housing is dominated by studios and small apartments in residences, with high occupancy. The practical consequence is simple: many short changeovers in a row, rather than a few large chalets.

02 Changeover Saturday
What happens in a single day
In a resort, the cleaning is not the hard part: everything happens at once. Departures in the morning, arrivals in the afternoon, across every property on the same day.
- Before the seasonWe record the number of properties, beds and bathrooms, and set the number of teams needed to hold the day.
- The day before, FridayThe next day’s schedule is fixed on confirmed departures, not on the forecast made at the start of the season.
- Saturday morningTeams leave from the valley, 1 hr 40 by road. Each property’s condition is recorded before anything is touched.
- Saturday afternoonProperties ready before arrivals, with a time-stamped photo report for each one.

03 What we do
Our work at altitude
A narrower list than in the valley: in resorts, we look after holiday accommodation and its common areas, not private homes.

In resorts, we only work on a season contract: a one-off changeover 118 km away cannot be done properly. In the Chambéry valley, holiday lets between guests are handled by Hipla Conciergerie (site in French).

Val Thorens — your questions
How many studios can you turn around in a day?
It depends on the team committed, which is why we ask for the number of properties at the start of the season rather than one at a time. A studio is quicker to turn around than a chalet, but working through them in sequence takes strict organisation so that the last property gets the same care as the first.
The season is longer: do you work until May?
Yes. Val Thorens opens earlier and closes later than the rest of the area. We align our schedule with the resort's actual dates, not with the calendar of the other 3 Vallées resorts.
When should the end-of-season clean be done?
Right after closing, in May. It is the only time a property stays empty long enough to deal properly with textiles, carpets and windows, with the drying time they need. Waiting until autumn means doing everything in a rush before opening.
